EDC Colombia's debut weekend at the Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot means two days of heat, dancing, and very little sleep. Here is an honest guide to bouncing back the morning after — what a hangover IV actually does, what it can't do, and how to get a nurse to your hotel near Estadio, Laureles, or El Poblado.
EDC Colombia's first edition landed at the Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot on October 10 and 11, 2026, with more than 80 artists across five stages. That means two afternoons and nights of standing, dancing, and walking between kineticFIELD, circuitGROUNDS, and neonGARDEN — easily 15,000 to 25,000 steps per day.
Medellín sits at about 1,495 meters (4,905 ft) above sea level. At that altitude you lose fluid faster through breathing and sweating than you would at sea level, and alcohol hits harder. Add October sun during the day, warm crowded stages at night, and the drinks you had along the way, and the math is simple: you end the weekend significantly dehydrated and short on sleep.
None of this is dangerous for most healthy adults — but it explains why Monday-morning-you feels so much worse than a normal hangover back home.
The classic post-festival morning is a stack of three problems. First, dehydration: alcohol is a diuretic, dancing for hours is cardio, and most people drink far less water than they lose. Second, electrolyte depletion: you sweat out sodium, potassium, and magnesium, which is why your head pounds and your muscles ache. Third, sleep debt: two late nights in a row disrupt the deep sleep your body uses to recover.
Drinking water helps, but when you're nauseous your stomach absorbs fluids slowly — and if you can't keep anything down, it barely helps at all. That's the gap a hangover IV is designed to fill.
Our hangover recovery drip starts with a 1-liter bag of sterile saline for rapid rehydration, plus a full B-complex, vitamin C, and magnesium. The nurse can add ondansetron (an anti-nausea medication) so you can keep fluids down, and ketorolac (a non-narcotic anti-inflammatory) for the headache and body aches.
Because the fluids go directly into your bloodstream, you rehydrate fully regardless of how your stomach feels. Most clients report the nausea easing within 15 to 20 minutes and feeling noticeably more functional by the end of the 30 to 45 minute session.
To be clear about the evidence: IV fluids are a well-established way to correct dehydration, and the medications used are standard, widely studied drugs. What research does not support is the idea that any IV 'cures' a hangover instantly or erases the effects of alcohol — time and sleep still do the heavy lifting. An IV gets you comfortable and hydrated while that happens.
An IV will not sober you up, lower your blood alcohol level, or repair two nights of lost sleep. It also is not a substitute for medical care. If you or a friend has confusion, vomiting that won't stop, chest pain, trouble breathing, or can't be woken up normally, that is a medical emergency — go to a hospital or call local emergency services, not a mobile IV service.
For everyone else — the dehydrated, headache-y, 'I'm never drinking aguardiente again' crowd — a hangover IV is a reasonable, fast way to feel human before your flight or your last day in the city.
The Atanasio Girardot complex sits between the Estadio and Laureles neighborhoods, and most EDC visitors are staying within a short drive: Laureles, Estadio, Belén, El Poblado, and Provenza. We cover all of them.
Once you confirm on WhatsApp, a nurse typically arrives within about 60 minutes anywhere in Laureles, Estadio, El Poblado, Provenza, or Envigado. We also serve Sabaneta, Belén, El Centro hotels, and Rionegro or the JMC airport area if you're flying out the same day.
Groups are welcome — if your whole crew is recovering in the same Airbnb or hotel, we can treat several people in one visit.
Message us on WhatsApp at +57 301 642 3130 with your hotel or Airbnb address, your preferred time, and how many people need a drip. We'll confirm a nurse and an arrival window within minutes.
You pay when the nurse arrives — cash (USD or COP), card, Venmo, or Zelle. No deposit, no prepayment. The hangover IV is $110 USD all-in: no delivery fee, no consultation fee.
